I'm sure most of you have seen these Velcro hair clips that several beauty gurus on YouTube have been wearing to keep their hair away from their face when applying makeup. These Velcro hair clips have been immensely popular in Japan and I can see why!
Using the Velcro clip will keep your hair back (whether for putting on makeup or keeping your hair out the way when cleaning etc) and they are better than hairbands or kirby grips since they can leave a dent in your hair where as the Velcro slip will not because it is so lightweight. If I'm using a hairband to keep my hair back, my fringe becomes all skewered and doesn't sit properly again.
You can find these Velcro clips on Ebay for about a £1 for two, but why buy them when you can make one yourself?
All you need is a pair of scissors and a Velcro roller. This method is slightly cheaper as I got a pack of 8 Velcro rollers for £2 in one of my local stores.
It's very simple, all you need to do it cut along the roller where the Velcro is glued together.
The Velcro comes off the cage easily and you have your own Velcro clip!
After I took this picture I trimmed off the bottom part where the Velcro was glued to make it neater.
I've seen some bow shaped Velcro clips floating around, but this can be easily copied by cutting it whatever shape you desire but I'm happy with my rectangle.
